can some one put me right on this, for every litre of water i put into my ibc is it taking two litres to produce one litre of pure water?
so therefore should i be claiming for twice the amount i am claiming,i am only claiming for the the amount i use,for cleaning not what i am using
hope that makes sense ;D

RO can waste between 2-4 times the pure output.
but you should be costing for water in not out, so go by you water bill.

I thought you could only claim for water if you paid business rates for it???!!!
Any ideas?

The easiest way is to put a water meter in the feed to your system, that way you record every litre that is used in the production of your pure and you can work out the exact cost from your water company's website. It is an allowable expense whether or not you have registered as a business user with the water company.
Cheers,
Ian
Ps water meters cost about £20 :)

I book every litre of water that goes through my ro. I have a separate meter.

How much do they charge for fitting another meter?

My guess is the meter he has is not fitted by the water board because they would charge a small fortune to do it, something like this is easy to install

Precisely just fit it before the ro. I think I got through 150 cubic metres in the last tax year.
