That's only 100 sq yards / metres so you should be looking at £2 psy depending on the condition of the carpet. What kind of equipment do you have?

Can't understand why people still measure in
sq ft.
Metres as got to be easier, smaller sums.

That's a good point but a high percentage of my customers are 50+ and prefer sq yds, commercials I do in sq metres

I measure in feet and devide the total by 9 to get the total square yards, generally charge about £2.00 per square Yard.

would have that that using sq ft would make you look a bit antiquated in this day and age. Even now carpet shops are still advertising prices in square yards, which to anbody but the old generation is confusing. Why do they do it because the price is cheaper than a square metre. I tell customers that it is the price that they pay that is important, not the ridiculous formulas that some people feel they have the need to use to get to those prices. Luckily I do get most of the work that I quote on so I do not see the need to change my formula.
State of the art equipment/ antiquated measurements, does not sound like a good marketing strategy to me.

Back in the early days I quoted over the phone for an office 12x12.
Unfortunately when I got there it was metres not feet. :( ;D

No!
Just put your price-you make no mention of VAT. It's irrelevant in your situation.

I bet if I asked you your height you would tell me in foot! ;D
-
I bet if you asked his Mrs his length, she'd give you it in millimetres ;D
