Title: 33metre pole!
Post by: Darranvps on April 18, 2012, 01:23:54 pm
Has anyone ever used or concocted something that will reach 33metres high.
1. Was it any good?
2. What was it?

I am thinking about cobbling together the Unger hiflo - although I have never used or infact seen one in operation.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Cherry pickers would not get all the way around the building and abseiling isn't wanted.

We cleaned the building originally with Mast Climbers which were in place at the time of cleaning - sadly gone now :o

The water from the pole hose would be heavy and thats not including the weight of the pole  :o :o

If you do it make a vid to post on here  ;D ;D

Could you not use a water fed pole of a cherry picker just for the floors that you can't reach from the ground?

If a pole was dropped and the operator tried to recover it he may cause himself to be levered out of the cherry picker by the base end of the pole. It could pivot on the edge of the cage and with any shock loading caused by its fall may be enough to lift a guy out. or at least give him a hefty slap in the ball bag or chin.

I've seen picture of companys using pole out of cradles and platform before,

No diffrent than using a pressure washing lance which I've also seen.

I met a guy in Nottingham who says he can reach 105 foot but he has a guy on the roof with a rope to stop it falling sideways as thats the only way to control it....
