Just wondering if anyone carries round one of those wireless debit card readers? I've had one or two customers ask if I can take a debit card payment, and I would be interested in any details you can tell me.
Seems like it'll be the norm in a few years and would be so convenient to have the cash straight into bank account.
How much do they cost to use etc?
Thanks

www.payyours.co.uk and speak to Graham, really good system and special offer on at the moment.... Tell him George passed on the details....
-
whats special about £400 up front and then a minimum of £24 a month
-
Its 250 in april and you own the machine so no long contracts so works out much cheaper than other providers. The minimum charge is not that much if you use it regularly.
I am having one for a new business I am starting next month...
-
Ive got one from pay yours, its great, use it every day!!!
George, did you get yours through my recommendation on here?
-
whats the costs for this system then ?
machine costs =
Setup cost =
monthy cost =
transaction cost =
whats it like to use is it quick plus have you ever had a problem with loss of signal ?
thanks Paul

Hi Paul,
Best thing, www.payyours.co.uk give Nikki a call, and ask her. They wont give you the sales spiel so no worries.
Mention Mick from M J Cleaning told you too call, and you'll get a discount. Yes i get a refferal fee, but it all goes to Help 4 Heroes ;)
-
Hi Mick
I havent bought it yet but told them where i found out about it, looks like a proper piece of kit and I bet the customers love it....
-
They do, it puts across "professional".
I pick quite a bit of add ons cos of it, connie cleans etc, they just slap it on their card rather than wait til they can afford it!!
Only takes 3 days to reach your account too!!
-
Its next day for debit and three for credit cards? And the charges are brilliant too, its less than I thought it would be....
-
Thanks for the info and replies, I'm definitely heading in this direction. Next day and 3 days to clear isn't bad at all. Does anyone know if you can just buy the handset and have it as a sort of pay-and-go rather than renting them?
-
I read something about an app for your phone....going to look into it.
-
If you look at the site you will see that you buy the machine outright, i would go for a machine rather than the app as looks so much better...
-
I agree, GDwindowcleaning. I want to find out if there's a cheaper option though. Payyours does look like a reliable and secure service. I suppose you do need it to be really secure, it's handling money afterall!
-
I always look at things from a personal point of view, would I rather put my card into a machine or an app I know nothing about into someone elses phone? Machine every single time....

There's no contract or renting, you own the machine! Very good deal too!

The MobilePOS app recommended on moneysavingexpert.com costs £50 to set up and 30p per transaction.
-
mick hay: It says you pay a monthly handling fee though?
-
GDwindowcleaning: I take your point
-
I think the main thing i'd be wary of is the transaction charges. On the payyours site it says "MINIMUM monthly tranaction charge - £15". I'm wondering what the normal and maximum charge would be and if there's anywhere cheaper.
-
Its 24p debit and 1.95% credit cards, 8 quid a month for the roaming sim which works on the strongest network and a 15 quid a month minimum transaction charge....
-
Not too shabby.
-
Mick hay: Can you confirm these charges as you seem to be the only one who actually uses one?
-
Tim if you are sceptical just ring them up...they will confirm I am not making it up lol
-
Sorry, I'm not sceptical, I appreciate your info, I'm just interested in hearing how much it costs Mick Hay on average (any hidden costs included) as he has experience using it.
