getting more and more behind with the rain.
do you not work in the rain ?
-
Try not to.dont see the point.i wouldnt be happy if someone done mine whilst it ped it down
-
I'd be happy to go on the ladder but customers cancel because of it.

the point is you will not get behind and struggle, what you think and what you can do really are too different things clearly mate and your thoughts are costing you lost revenue for no good reason apart from you dont like going out in the rain.
If you educate your customers you will soon see its fine.
This is of course is totally rubbish if your trad because the rain does stop play, wfp there is no excuse as it makes no difference to the finish.

I have got miles behind already due to weather and other commitments.but i try and offer the best service available but living on the coast the rain and wind brings grit and sand.
i will catch up.

goretex boots and jacket and carry on!my customers are used to me cleaning in rain, sleet, snow, ice etc.there is the odd one who comes out and says "your not cleaning them today are you?"these customers either get em done that day or i skip them until next clean.
lots of customers are out when cleaning so no bother.even some of my posh customers in large houses just come out and pay when its bouncing down as they know i need to make a living.
sit in the van with a flask during heavy showers then crack on when it eases off a bit.i dont work if its prolonged heavy rain all day though.
emergency fund built up throughout the year is ready there for me to dip into if i need to.
im behind with work due to having 10 days off a couple of weeks ago but im not worried.they will get done eventually.
i had a lot more time off when i was ladders only when wet as i hated climbing up a wet ladder and ended up making more of a mess of the windows than anything else!!
monday was a fantastic day up here.rest of the week looks pretty bad.you often find it doesnt turn out as bad as they forecast most of the time!!
best wishes

-
what are you going to do if we have a really wet summer and autumn sit inside and
starve.get on with it most customers will be fine youll get trhe odd one who will play up
just pass on them.
the only time i dont clean in rain is if it is horizontal or its coupled with high winds
otherwise crack on
-
Most people really don't mind unless it's lashing it down. We probably get about 1 person in 20 that will play up!
The only work that I wouldn't entertain is tradding leaded windows in the rain because they just smear!
-
Clean in light to moderate rain, but when it's peeing down and blowing a gale I don't really wanna be stood out there getting wet and blown all over the place.
Might aswell just appreciate the time off guys nothing wrong with a chill out day...

You get to know customeres working hours etc to an extent... so when its pis*ing it down, go clean where you know their be out. Thats my trick, but thats only if I wanna get wet, 50/50 normally ;D
-
Bit of a weird one this week really - hard rain, light then sunshine - I've done all my work in it - at times, got paid at the door whilst it's tipping it down - and I've even picked up 2 new customers @ £10 each whilst out cleaning :)
-
full day done 930am-430pm.had early dinner at 11am as it was bouncing down for around half an hour!a few squally showers in the afternoon but just worked through it.
working tomorrow and saturday.hopefully itll just be the odd shower!! ;D ;D ;D
keep going boys youll know itll be worth it when you ve got a big fat wedge at weekend!! :D :D :D :D
-
Todays weather damp then light rain then sunny then fecking hailstorm then sunny then rain then hailstorm then rain and now sunny so just worked thru it apart from hailstorm
-
Have not struggled all week with the rain just keep on going and not one customer has ever moan me cleaning in the rain, so dont know why all these window cleaners not going out and earning there wedge.
Is it the customers that really dont want them doing or is it that some window cleaners dont want to clean in the rain??
You provide a service to customers, so give them the service that they want, there windows to be cleaned.
Some proclaim to provide a regular service but your not given them the regular service if your behind due to the weather.
So get off your butts and get out there come rain or shine ;D ;D
-
agree with most just dress accordingly and crack on, even picked up new work today in a down pour, went through two jackets as well
