Can anyone tell me what I may have to consider safety wise about going over a factory roof to clean out some gutters please
Info
As I understand it there is a 6' alley at the back of this factory that is seriously overgrown also has lots of cages/ racking stored down this alley so clearance is a job in itself
The property the otherside of the alley belongs to tha railway so we are not going to get permission to get access from there
So we are thinking the only real access is going to have to be over the roof
Will we be able to use harnesses and rope to secure us onto the roof?

You can secure to their roof if they have a Mansafe system, if not, you can get your own temporary roof anchor, such as:
http://simplifiedsafety.co.uk/solutions/mobile-man-anchor/weightanka/
Done a couple of jobs like this, but used MEWP's, and charged back to customer.
First stop is to check if they have Mansafe.

Concept, there is no chance we can use a mobile platform as it all on the back of the building and only a 6' overgrown alley between them and the railway

Theres plenty of different machines out there capapble of extending over buildings, but, if its out of reach, look at the anchor systems if the roof is suitable to take them.

The roof, I am lead to believe is 75 cm thick, more than enough to walk on even without crawling boards
