hi all
been asked to quote for a large area of pavers covered in chewy. i normally would steam but its a big area and there are hundreds of chewy blobs.
i only have a little portable steamer. what are those gum busters like or is there a better way?
cheers

hot jet wash?
-
hi matt
cheers for that i thought as much. nearly bought a hot box last month wish i had now as this job would have paid for it.
might try and hire something my local service centre has karcher hds1000 for hire.
just bought a new yanmar diesel of lee as well was hoping to give it a blast on this job but is only cold.
cheers

where are you based i may be able to rent you some equipment
-
A kacher will take you longer to clean it. I would get a hot box if i was you. I only do about 4 chewing gum jobs a year but the hot box pays for its self in no time.
As you say it is on paviers a diesel hot wash would be a much better option as you will need to clean them all as you go really.

I use a steamer, it uses a small amount of water and chemical with only my generator being petrol which is more expensive. Park the van, lift out the steamer, start the gennie, put out some cones and 10 mins later you are ready. I have an old Osprey deep clean 3000 which is very good
-
hi
thanks all.
i like the idea of the steamer as i dont really want to pressure wash the whole thing. they dont want that and there is a time constraint as well.
i told them that they will see where we have been but there not bothered.
cheers

I have the Miragreen units, I have also used a machine similar to the one shown.
The difference as I see it is in the lance. The machine like the one pictured have two sectioned lances that clip into each other. They work but become strained and then loose.
If you can strengthen this then there is no reason why they don't work. I did only use ours though as a last resort and it was hard work compared to the MIragreen (Had a problem with both units at the time)
Hope your busy and well

I think I would be prepared to hire the single operator machine out - as I have met you but it doesn't travel well and I am always having to reconnect the supply pipes.
It can be run from mains with a RCD breaker attached or from a generator. I have all of this and any cost would be for you to collect, hire per day and drop off in the same condition.
The generator is petrol and I would not supply.
Feedback on what you would be willing to pay per day - let me know.
I wouldn't mind feedback on what the hire per day of this set up would be from anyone else.

i think matrix at preston hire their machines out, worth giving them a call for a price for you to go off
