Title: Do you push the extra's ??
Post by: Ian101 on April 16, 2012, 07:06:21 pm
Well maybe not so much pushing them but do you look for it or wait till they ask you ?

Trying to maximise income from my round so going to start adding it onto my "your windows were cleaned today" slips.

Do you do ok from it if your one of those that push it ?

i have conny roof/fascia cleans printed on my tickets ian.they do bring in extra work in spring/summer.i dont tend to go looking for them as im usually fairly busy but when they do ask i put a good price in and clean them next time i clean their windows.never there and then.always pre booked for next month.

did one to day for £45.took me an hour including set up and driving away! ;) ;D used tfr in a pressure sprayer then wfp on custies outside tap.she was well impressed!!

i have a growing number of regular customers who now have their conny roofs cleaned once a year to keep them looking like new.

best wishes

Always look for more work - to maximise the most income out of each customer.  I'm just not pushy with it - I bring the subject of additional work into casual conversation.

If I see a dirty conservatory roof I clean one panel and then I show the customer and I say "this is a service we offer and this is the standard we clan clean to" it works very effectively as they have a comparison, suggestive selling, it's the windies version of " would you like fries with that"

I've noticed a lot of trad guys by me offer frames and sills as an extra, they push this too for a extra fee !  ;D

Likewise - we usually clean a meter of guttering or 1/2 a conny panel just to show them how well they will come up  ;)

they are left with an area all shiney and clean -  bugs the hell out of them  8)

we are busy most of the year with X's - not just from our customers - but other trad windy's and just 1 off's and accounts for
something like 15 to 20 of turnover while only taking 5 % of the hours

I used to advertise it on my slips ....I even used to give a free quiote to most customers..
but I am just so busy doing windows now that I wait untill they ask me.
I have a large number of customers that have extras every 2 years.
but I am starting to c harge a bit more these days, as I dont really need the extras

It works very effectively because one looks clean and the rest look crap  ;D might try that one.
