In 18 months I have bought 4 clx 18" poles and one slx35 along with brusheads etc. Each pole I have had to use tape on the clamps, I've re glued but still spin after couple days. The latest 2 clx I got 2 weeks ago and the goosenecks which came are pathetic tightened it and it's come undone useless so that poles back outa van and in garage. The slx which wasn't cheap just spins reverted back to our old poles. Anyone else had these problems or have I been unlucky with a couple bad ones?

Have you used the proper glue Gardiners send out?
-
"I pitty the fool" who slates gardiner poles on here ;D
Little a-team joke for ye there!
When you re- glue the clamps are you sanding them down properly?
And cleaning them up, or not using decent glue, ie.appoxy or
What's you methord of repair mate?

Had my slx for nearly 2 years, i have had to re glue a couple of clamps other than that its been brill!
Use the twin syringe araldite the clamps won't come loose again.
When your collapsing the pole try not to be heavy handed and smack the clamps together, that's what tends to make them loose IMO ;)

Hi Stephen
Sorry to hear you're having a problem with your recent CLX purchase. The only way that this can happen to the Resi-Necks is if they are over-tightened and then the lever closed with too much force. Arthur (at Sureclean)has been in contact last week with us about the issue that you had and there is a solution for you that we have sent out to Arthur which consists of strengthened barrel nuts - suitable for those that are prone to over-tightening. In reality these do not need to be this tight, just tight enough to hold. You may want to contact Arthur to see if these have arrived with him yet.

its good when a plan comes together ;D ;D ;D

i have 3 slx each have had clamps come loose we taped them then pushed the clamp on and they have not moved in months ;)
-
i thought all poles have their probs with the clamps . you have to keep maintaining them.
-
I love the clamps that you get on extelpoles, i wish gardiners would do them for their poles. Be perfection then i think.

I don't, they're terrible!!

Alex how can I find out about the stronger barrel nuts, despite knowing they do not need to be too tight I kept stripping the threads in the early days of using the pole and would like to get some spares?

Drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk and I can explain further. These are for the Resi-Necks at the moment.
