Title: Nationwide window cleaners new pricing structure
Post by: Dean Taberner on April 14, 2012, 08:33:26 pm
Is anybody giving this a go?

It would be good to know if you are or if you aren't and the listen to the reasons why, we got a £500 a quarter and 2 £100 a month jobs from the site so I don't need to answer personally. :-)

Is anybody else going for it?

Dean

Sorry - not for us - rather spend the money on other forms of advertising

while i know where you are coming from and agree every biz needs to advertise but it also need to be generating more work/income than its costing you - otherwise you end up making no money when a job finally comes in - all you have done is give your cash to others. - we have tried many forms of advertising some has worked some not - but the vast majority of new income comes from canvassing - reccomendations or just some1 seeing the van.

by the by - i thought res areas were £20 pm & commercial £30 ?  so you have 4 areas ( 2 res/2 com for £6 each )

It's even tougher than that if you thin it through more deeply.  What you need from this (all other things being equal) is for it to generate new customers cheaper than your best current method.

If a hundred quid on this site generates £200 of business, it still doesn't make sense to do it if a hundred quid on, say, leaflets would generate £400.

^ I agree. The term "paid for itself" is used on this site far too loosely.

I may not have had any new business from this method of advertising yet, but what I have got from it so far is to block my competition from using it, as only one advertiser can have my area   ;)

i bet they're gutted they're not in on it instead!!!!  ;)

if you're not getting any response, you're just wasting your money.

But when it does pay for itself, who's the winner then?

I done the trial period, but won't be renewing, not had one call from it.
I have picked up quite a bit since last year when NWC started, but nothing from them, all from my own advertising, mostly from my own website.
I had one new customer ask, if I done my own work or do I sub out, as she wanted to know who she as dealing with, she didn't want just any Tom, Dick or Harry, and this was a  £240 house, as I say from my own website, definately best way of advertising.

Nudge nudge ha ha

Hi all, it's not for all and it is advitising at the end of the day but we have had some guys get great results from it, areas are still selling and we now have a database of 25k window cleaners to contact so we hope to have the network filling fast, when this is in place we can target the end user.

The home page is ranking high on page 1 now for window cleaning and window cleaners, and we get at least 50 enquiries a week now across then country.

Watch this space building a business and a brand takes time!!!!!

How many people a month just search for window cleaners or window cleaning actually looking for a window cleaner? Most will search for a town too surely?

Yes they will and with the mini site in the town at the top of google as well it's a win win, when NWC carry out national advitising they can say search for window cleaner or window cleaning click on the home page and follow the instructions

Great for cleaning or fm companies covering a wide area

If you  work you own website in the right way for the area you are in, it is cheaper than NWC and top results
