Hi
Friend of a friend of someone the wife knows took me out cleaning WFP for the morning.
Here he says "There's your boundary - window and frame - stick to the window and you'll be O.K. don't go near the frames"
Frames are full of c**p and spider webs and leaves stuck to them etc.
I was dying to give them a wash down but didn't 'cos obviously it's his work - he's showing me the ropes just go with the flow.
Picked up a job this aft' - I'm still ladder and squegee atm - anyway - last bloke used a pole she said but he gave up about 3 months ago.
I started but the frames and sills were absolutely minging I tried wiping off the runs on the sills and it was as if they hadn't been cleaned for years not 3 months the muck on top of the fanlights was unbelievable.
I know this is Yorkshire but:
Clean the frames and sills or don't clean the frames or sills?
The lad who took me out has a cracking round or so it seems and the custys didn't seem to mind the frames were minging.
Gonna have my WFP up and running as soon as Brodex get their *** in gear.
Frame or not to Frame that is the question?

Brodex or not Brodex THAT is the question
But Yes Frames every time
-
if you avoid the frames you may still get them slightly wet and then they will drip dirt off slowly onto the window. clean the frames- really makes you stand out in the customers eyes
-
I've picked up a few jobs coz cleaner hasn't/won't touch frames and sills - wfp&trad - personally, I reckon it's harder to miss the frames than clean them, and it looks so much more professional and simply better when everything is cleaned
-
Frames and cills are a MUST wfp! :o
-
its a must to clean them wfp, if house has alot of vents make sure you rince that crap out ,
-
Frames and sills are part of the window remember, your mate is a cowboy ;D
-
Recently in my area a window cleaner has stopped coming so have used this as a oppertunity to canvas the area and picked up a few jobs where the old windie who was wft never touched the frames, frames and sills are a must as the windows will just look crap otherwise!!
Just make sure on the first cleans you give them a bloody good scrub and rinse like mad!!
-
frames every time - 1st cleans will take you a lot longer than the following reg cleans - but take the time and effort
on the 1st clean and life is so much easier thereafter - your friend or a friend MAY appear to have it easy and the
customers SEEM happy but cutting corners will catch up with him an ultimately lose customers.
as a previous post i'd worry more about Brodex !

Did a first clean for a customer only yesterday who had dropped his previous cleaner for leaving the frames.
Frames are only tough the first time you do them. Our method on a first clean is a damned good scrubbing on every inch of frame and glass. Wait five minutes for the runs to die down (better still, do another house) then back and clean the glass only to leave them perfect.
After that first struggle, frames are clean and just need keeping that way.

I would think nothing of canvassing a windies customers who would only clean the glass. I am offering a service he does not do.Its called window cleaning.

I find its easier to just do the frames looks better and you dont need to be as precise with the brush also less chance of dirt going onto the glass it doesnt take any more time or effort to do them in fact i think it makes it quicker and easier
like as has already been said on the first clean make sure you scrub and rinse the frames well then its just a matter of a quick scrub and rinse from then on

I have put in my leaflets and sales pitch the line "we clean windows not just the glass". It wins them over evry time.
So, yes, frames every time.

Frames and cills are a MUST wfp! :o
i picked up a nice country hotel the other week, becuase the guy who was doing them before, didnt touch the frames (he was wfp)
to be honest, using wfp, if you dont clean the frames, its just lazyness ;D
