was out collecting last night £10 house lady comes to the door and says im not very happy with windows so i say whats wrong with them and can you show me whats wrong? so she takes me to the side window an says theres a mark on it. i tried rubbing it of and to my delight it was the insides. she then says theres 1 on the back aswell so i go round and give it a rub and suprise suprise it was the inside again. she then says im still not happy so i say why not? she replies i dont want to pay you. my reply was you need the money more than me so before you think about getting another window cleaner. try cleaning your house you scruffy bitch. she was speachless lol next time im in the area il be soaping all of her windows up cheeky feckers they are.

hi jackal no not a new customer had her for 3-4 years and she has always been fine. must of been time of the month. you win some you lose some i suppose.

move on danny!i had a customer who i rang last night she said she would leave keys for garage and payment(£20).she must have forgot as i turned up at 9am and no payment and no keys!!first time its happened though so i will give her another chance.its an easy job.£20 for 30 mins work and its right near lots of my other work.
but i have had the odd bad customer before now.just forget and move on!its never affected my earnings as im earning much more than i ever have in the past!onwards and upwards you ll find a better customer to replace her soon enough!

i will move on dazmond always picking up new and better priced work. i will start worrying when im losing more than im picking up. just makes you laugh when nothing up with the job i done.

i used to get even by pushing bamboo in the doorlock or wiping egg on a window with a sponge
i later really regretted doing it (the egg anyway) and now prefer to do nothing and sleep easy

tell her to keep her money as charity is tax deductable and you like to do your bit for the poor

had the same before christmas.
picked up a £15 house a while back , no problems for 18 months then last time i went she was following me about with KITCHEN ROLL wiping the soap out of corner of the frames.
say whats the problem ?
Well not happy with the soap residue , in fact there is marks all over the window that you see from inside.
went in her kitchen and sure enough marks on glass but on the INSIDE!
she was absolutely shattered when i pointed this out , should have seen her face.
after having told me if i cant do them right , she will get someone else , i said tell you what get someone else and dumped her.
not worth the hassle these people and you did the right thing buddy.
in 20 years on and off , of cleaning windows have never had the like.
apart from last year i had one nutjob who asked me to leave the windows as it might rain tomorrow. ::) ???
takes years to get a good round and weedle out all the junk , worth it in the end.

strange one then really if she been with you so long,must of been pi ssed off for a while i guess maybe just sick of having to pay 10 quid a month when house is dirty anyway,like you say dont think about it again as long as you still pick work up to fill the gaps thats all that matters

i had one nut job said he didn't want his windows cleaned because it was forcast rain at the end of the week, next time i did his neighbour he wanted his windows cleaned, i told him it was forcast rain by the end of the month so best not do it .

funnily enough 6 months later down the same street the wife of mr" it might rain tomorrow" came out and asked me to do them and i said it might rain tomorrow? ::)
she took the point straight away.
sad you have to be like that with some people , you either want the windows done or not.??? ???

i think it takes time to build up that thickskin needed for customers , and to keep that smile on your face.
so i do sympathise with danny.
no matter what though some people are beyond a joke.
after 20 years , i think i have learned the customer is always right ::) ;D

I really don't know why you comment on these posts, you aren't a window cleaner, you work in IT and are so glad as you get to travel and hated being a window cleaner, but still you come on here and offer rubbish opinions, or just make statements that are usually derogatory, why?

Ol apologise for the idiot bit. I did window cleaning for so many years I still have an interest in it believe it or not! It was silly what I said hence the daft smiley face. I think though that the chap probably shouldn't talk to clients like that tho.
I will try to contribute more positively from now.

I lost three customers yesterday. Various reasons given. Cutting back, waking the baby up when I'm collecting (not at an unreasonable time I hasten to ad), and one blamed WFP for condensation between her d/galzing. Every year for the past three years we get a couple of guys comming round undercutting the regular w/cleaners by half in the spring. They've just done their leafleting so I suspect that may have something to do with it. However, more often than not they do a bad job in one way or another and I end up with gaining some of my old custies back. That wouldn't happen if we abused them.

Mike sometimes it's hard to believe what it written on here. Always reminds me of the Father Ted episode when Dougal can't quite work out if it is real or a dream ;D
Slagging off a customer will spread much quicker than recommendations will ;)
