ive used it and got some stains out that  i normally wouldnt but i used it on a urine stain and it turned the carpet purple so i think you need to qualify with the customer that you are using a spotter that effects the dyes in the carpet and there could be different results.

I have been using peroxide and ammonia for years but I thought I'd give dye gone a try and it seems to be better.

Yes its good stuff as has been said youve just got to be careful about skin contact as it doesnt wash off and qualify with the customer 1st as it can effect the colour of the carpet aswell in some situations.

See saved your skin there Davep telling you to get some off john k !

Eh av tought that lad everything he knows  ;D

used it yesterday for the first time on an unknown stain that i couldn't budge with everything in my usual arsenal, and this did the trick.
scary stuff especially when it starts foaming and makes the carpet look white, eeeek.
its a must but it will always be my last line of attack.
stinks to high heaven as well.

I was talking to John and Lynn about it at Restormate earlier this week and they are getting very positive feedback from cleaners who have used it, several people are now buying it by the boxful.

It's probably one of those products you should have in your toolbox, but only to be used with care and when necessary.

I can second that. My most sceptical (and best) carpet cleaning customer dismissed it as "Just Helpmate, nothing new!" So I gave him a kit to trial and he ordered a case & 2 sprayers on his next order.

Its not new I been using HM knock out for years. But they sell refills in 1 litres bottles. I keep loads in stock.

Craig,
I used to use it too but when it started to be made over here it ended up being useless, maybe they changed it back to the orginal formula now.

Yes I agree Simon, I had it cause browning a few times, since they been making it here.

Hopefully they sorted the formula now.

Don't think so, they seem to be having a problem getting any chemicals in from the states, been waiting for OJ for months now, not sure what's going on there.

I only bought the dye gone for the mix spray bottle as the HM one is leaking but useable, SO I shall test them side by side and report back, just need to wait for a red wine stain.

I got my Dye Gone yesterday and I have to say that I'm a little disturbed that there aren't more words of caution on the bottle given the damage this stuff can potentially do. 'Test in an inconspicuous area' is there, but nothing else. :o

Get some acetic acid on it straight away if you do get HP on your skin, then wash off well.  The white will fade after few hours!
