I have never owned a whirlaway have always cleaned with a turbo nozzle then gone over with my less expensive rotary cleaner :).
I do not believe that you can clean block paving removing all weeds with just a rotary cleaner, however some of the youtube vids i have watched of the whirlaway they give the impression that it is all you need.
Does anyone use a whirlaway and what are your thoughts on this.

To remove all dirt with Whirlaway you would need machine that does at least 20L per minute
Mine is 15L and it doesn’t clean everything. I use turbo for most driveway cleaning jobs

That reminds me, me and Lee Kenny cleaned the gum up at a cinema in Wigan a couple of weeks ago and where the paving ends with the cinema the next lot of paving starts for other outlets. It had been cleaned(sort of)with just a turbo nozzle. You can see the lines. Rushed and not a uniform clean. Anyone on here do this? ;D

I have a 21ltr machine and a Tech clean fsc and that dos'nt remove everything but it does have its place. Walk to quick with a fsc and you will leave some stripes and also you can see the overlap between passes on concrete some months later. I also use the turbo a lot of the time on the more stubborn jobs. The answer is to have the full set of kit and decide which one at the time. I used to use my 8" mosmatic on a long gun quite a lot when I only had the 15ltr machine.

I have a Demon Hurricane P4 (3000psi 15lpm) and use a demon FSC most of the time (also a whirlaway) I use the Demon first as it does not spread crap every where, then a quick rinse with fan lance, do the edges with a turbo, any areas that need a bit more I use turbo again then rinse,
I make sure the FSC is set to the right height (quite low) dont have any probs doing it this way

2 years ago at the amsterdam cleaning showI saw some turbo nozzles the size of acorns I am still waiting to see them fitted to a fsc ..... Best of both worlds :D

A deeper pan and smaller turbos. Operation Turbo FSC. ;)

Looking to upgrade mosmatic soon and asked same q ref turbs... seems the whole problem is the balancing of the spray bars, (thats why they are so costly!) sure you all know what happens when you have a slight blockage on a fan jet - if the turbs wear slightly different all becomes unbalanced :(
Would be great if they came up with solution

Whirlaway doesn't get used much as tends to make jobs take longer. OK on slabs, PIC, Concrete and Tarmac but even then not 100% reliable.

FSC are a bad design anyhow, a single bar pivoted in the middle with no outer support. how hard would it be too fit a wheel either end of the bar that ran against the top?

Just thought I would bump this thread and see what people's opinions are now on FSC v turbo nozzles. Never used a FSC only turbo but I'm interested to see if they really are that much of a time saver and do they do as good a job. I'm interested as I'm on the lookout for a whirlaway and my machine does 15 lpm 200 bar 3000 psi

does anyone know the name of the company that sells these.
