Title: the tax man
Post by: dan paton on April 09, 2012, 03:13:56 am
got a question for any of you guys who've got a full time job and run a part time cc business. the current earnings at which you start paying 40% tax is £34371. may sound stupid here but does this apply for your business and job combined . if it does do you only pay the higher tax over that amount or on all your earnings combined for the year. or is there any way round it. cheers

Combined earnings from both
And yes only pay 40% on the amount above the 34371

No problem, you'll also have to fill in a self assessment, and its probably wise to get a tax advisor to do that as there are all sorts of costs you'll be liable to claim against earning.
