does google see fresh content were ever it is within a website or just the home page? Can it also see when videos  & pictures are changed

Mike, it will see changes to all your website although it may not be checking it that regular.

It's generally a good thing to add content consistently and over time. Pictures, videos, feeds etc (which can be tagged with keywords). Just adding a before and after pic every other week, with a bit of a write up on it will do wonders and also have another page/blog post to be indexed.
