These regs are for householders, not window cleaners. We are exempt.

Best to check water companies websites, veolia have a section just for WFP window cleaners.

Exceptions
- using a hosepipe to clean a private motor vehicle, walls and windows of domestic premises, or paths, patios and other outdoor surfaces where this is done as a service to customers in the course of a business.

Yes but according to the news yesterday it stated that certain business's like car washes would be next so best not get complacent!!

im glad when i use to use trolley i found solution to use less water but still results , so if they restrict amount of use im sure i can cope but those who use massive amounts might come unstuck.
but then again might never happen, they should dip there hands in there pockets and fix there leaks, they owe us that or gov should step in and make them, but no they make us suffer instead.
so many countries find other ways like use of sea water and with global warming those ice burgs should be no shortage, us as a little island surrounded by water, surly its time our system was updated in uk they made billions in profit but dont want to spend any to update the system, no instead they screw us, only in the uk,

I saw on the news yesterday as well,they even filmed a window being cleaned with wfp and a pressure washer being used at a car wash,the message was clear if things don't improve theses will be banned in the near future,I'm starting to practice and improve my trad.

I also get the impression they are preparing for the next stage already. I don't care that much, I can still trad, just don't want to.

i don't think they want more people with no jobs just because they think there isn't enough water.also this means more people will go in benefits so they should realise it's false economy .it's just the way i see it.

The water companies are private companies now, most aren't even British. Why should they care? This is not the Government doing this. Crazy that a foreign company can charge you for a service and then not provide it.

Assuming we have to go back to trad for a while, how are you all going to deal with customers who say they prefer it that way rather than wfp? I use wfp but on the odd occasion (when my pump packs up or I run out of water) I always get one or two who say they prefer trad over wfp. Knowing the best thing to say in advance would be helpful.

Health and safety is why we use Wfp.

Dont entertain people who are inclined that way. They're ex-customers if that is the case.

Which in my eyes is good as people will have to turn to businesses to get things cleaned when they would normally do it themselves :D

Complete joke if we are stopped using it,we have loads of rain,are an island with water all around,yet hot countries can cope,I will continue to use a backpack and water containers,in not risking my health and losing my work as a result of this. And if caught I hope the benefit system will pay my mortgage and provide me with food for my family.

I have copied/pasted this from Veolia terms. Its on their site for all to see.
Water fed poles are frequently used by window cleaners and are within the definition of
‘anything designed, adapted or used to serve the same purpose as a hosepipe’. These
systems use de-ionised water. Where mains water is the source used to create this deionised
water, this activity is restricted.
Exceptions
A statutory exception exists in The Water Use (Temporary Bans) Order 2010 for the cleaning
of domestic walls or windows in respect of health or safety. This includes:
a) removing or minimising any risk to human or animal health or safety; and
b) preventing or controlling the spread of causative agents of disease.
Any person whose business was in existence before 15 March 2012 and whose income is
solely dependant on this type of use for domestic or commercial purposes, then we will make
an exception until 23:59 on 4 July 2012. During this time we are requesting that businesses
ensure that at the end of this time period they can operate under the restrictions
