Title: why are words censered on clean talk?
Post by: Mike Halliday on April 03, 2012, 07:48:22 am
i sometimes have a quick look at cleantalk and noticed this morning that that dp design is a banned word on cleantalk (well I think was dP design as it was '_____' )

also CIU is reffered to as 'the other channel'. Now its Nicks Forum he can do anything he likes with it but I do think we should all make an effort to embrace the wider internet community and we should all be friends, censering words is a little bit piontless when everyone knows what the word is anyhow.

i'm going to ask Mike & the adminnteam that they specifically invite Nick to join us here on CIU and we start all being friends, Simon Has his own forum ( www.truckmounters.co.uk ) and he actively contributes to this forum I don't see why Nick can't do the same
I've got to admit that sometimes I feel an emptiness in my heart and i have to come to realise that its because i no longer have Nick in my life ;) ;)

If you have questions to ask about the "other side" Cleantalk why not ask them there ??

If I recall it was you who spit the dummy out over there about fusion 8........  :'(

So pop back in, start a thread and ask the question over there, where the man who knows the answer will tell you....

I've had my run ins with Nick over the years, because back then I judged a book by its cover, so to speak, perhaps we both did, but I now speak to Nick quite regularly and he is a nice guy and I know that his opinion on me has also altered. I think the mistake we can all make is to judge the electronic, faceless aspect of a person and make judgements about them and that is a mistake and one reason why I don't like posts becoming personal.
CT is associated with a brand and is fiercely protective of that brand which is fine. Truckmounters is focused on one aspect of the industry, but we do allow non truck mount members in, espcially those that are thinking of upgrading. Me and Glyn run the forum from our own pockets and earn no revenue from advertising and don't allow commercially tained posts so as to retain absolute independence  CIU is very broad, very open forum, which is a business, but I think all forums need diversity of opinions and personalities.
I think Mike is right, we all have something to bring to the table and other forum owners and members should be encouraged to join other forums regardless of the system, or products they use, because we have a lot more in common than the silly things that seem to divide us.
haven't seen you on Truckmounters lately, Mike.

hector I remember the topic, all I wanted to know was what was in it, but no one would tell me is asking basic questions spitting dummies out ?....then for some reason I could,nt log in  ;)

Simon I,ve forgotten my password, and after a while you just get out of the habit of visiting, just like the ccdo forum

Why don't you ask coca cola what their ingredients are?  :(

I think the outcome would be the same, only maybe not quite as polite...  ;D

You can log in now though   ;D

Hector I don,t understand your motives for deflecting away from the original question ???

I simply asked if a customer asked what I would be using to clean their carpets what could I say if I was using fusion 8, it and could it be boosted with an oxidiser, these were simple question I just didn't understand their refusal for an answer

Nick allows visitors to view a small number of topic without being a member, I don,t have to be able to log on

I'll tell you a word banned on CIU - "arse".  I used it last week and a moderator changed it to "bottom"!!!

So, just for the record,  ARSE  :-X

Could have a guess at whats in fusion etc ..

' M power 'could be called after  methyl ester sulfonate

'SPM'   could be Sodium Phosphate  ,  with some MES
and a dash of sodium percarbonate

but i could be way off   :D

As You well know mike I have been banned from many a public house in my time and now it appears I am also banned from cleantalk seeing as I have been printing carpet cleaning leaflets for over 25 years maybe they feel

I need a few more years at it under my belt befor i can be mentioned - however I HAVEN'T been on there forum for over 6 years - considering I supply to carpet cleaners - doesnt say much for there forum.....
