Hi All,
Been having a chat with the owner of a large building I clean and he's been told by his Maintenance guy, that the water poles are causing a problem in that, water is seeping through the bottom of the window and entering the building.
I've cleaned this building for over 8 years & never heard anything until now, I clean lots of Georgians and never heard anything like this, so was wondering if any of you guy's have come across the problem ?
I've been lead to believe that it is a design fault in the windows that the Maintenance guy was heavily involved in & now covering is ass.

Exterior Windows and Doors should not let water in! ;D
Sounds to me that matey is trying to cover his own backside.
In my experience if window frames let water in they also let wind and cold in, so are not fit for purpose. ;)

I am thinking the same - just going WFP and one customer said "I don't want you to clean with one of those water pole things - the last cleaner flooded my bedroom window sill!!"
But what happens when it rains?
To me that shows that she needs her windows fixing not that the system is wrong.

I don't have many Georgian windows on my round but the ones I have had and those I still do haven't proved to be as big a problem that I thought they would be. Strangely those that have leaked, and that isn't many, for the most part have not been Georgian but plain windows. I have found inward opening street doors to be the biggest culprit for leaking, even some new ones.

I have a lot of Georgiannever had a problem If a WF pole will be a problem what will the rain do.I smell a rat.

Only time they leak is if you have openers above windows that open, if that makes any sense. Since usually there are no draught strips or anything like that the water can seep in. If any water seeps in any where else there are structural problems.
