Only been using wfp for a month or so now, and already have broke the pole. Was looking on the floor for the flow tap to turn the water off, I had my CLX 27 leant against the wall but I probably didnt have it at a decent angle and the pole went slamming down and smashed the pole socket >:( >:(
Luckily Gardiners part is only £5.70 delivered.
May get an Aquadaptor now as thats twice this has happened when looking for the flow tap!

Yeah it was extended, just moved it to the side of the window I had been cleaning. Luckily it didnt hit any of the customers property! Oh well at least we can learn from mistakes.
Will and Aquadaptor be the best solution as its starting to do my head in looking for the tap?!
-
move the tap to the brush head ;)

I was lucky tbh I will take the damage of the brush socket than damage to other property for sure!
Good job the customer wasn't home :D
May treat myself to an Aquadaptor, will have to do some more research first as still not 100% sure how it works etc..But from what I gather you have to do a bit of modifying to the pole and then you can tug on your hose to control water flow. I think it will come in handy as will have hold of pole at all times and look more professional than looking for the tap every 2 minutes!

Put the pole hose outside the pole, and just nip the hose when you want to stop the water flow.
It's the quickest way to work.

I didn't think of that one, may give it a go ;)

I personally disagree Tosh
I used to nip the hose (hose inside pole though) and thought it was ok, but since using the aqua dapter im finding myself working alot more quicker and using less water than before.
Its just so much less hassle :)

Was the AquaDaptor easy to fit, I guess you recommend them? I have only heard good things about them.

I purchased two aquadapters; sold them both within a month. There's a knack to using external pole hose, like anything, but once you've got it, it's far quicker than messing about with aquadapters.
But we're all individuals; I prefer external pole hose.

Aqua adaptor is very slow like Tosh says. Sometimes my pole hose gets stuck in the pole due to me using hot, and it's a right pain having to reach down and pull it out. And people want to convince me to do that after every window? ??? Trigger or squeezing the pole hose works great because it's instant. I quickly depress the trigger even between moving panes. Plus an aqua adaptor adds weight and length. Personally speaking it's useless to me. Really don't see the advantage. Maybe it's harsh but to me it's more for beginners who struggle to find a way to stop the flow effectively. I don't like things getting in the way of speed. This is one of it.

What a shame to break the brush socket. :(
What you really need to do is to educate yourself as to a correct working method for using the pole and flow valve. I keep meaning to do a short video showing how simple and effective it is to use a pole with a flow valve fitted to the pole hose. I may well go ahead and shoot this over the weekend.
Basically the method that I use allows for full instant control of the water at all times with no hunting for a valve. I have the pole hose just before the flow valve running across my right palm. This allows for the valve to be right next to your right hand at all times. With this you can still hold the pole and it allows your right hand to slide along the pole if changing heights whilst holding the pole. When propping the pole up the valve is right by your hand for ease of shut off.
This method really works very well and once mastered is the easiest way of controlling the water. I will shoot that video and post a link.

Looking forward to the video.

sean wot alex is saying is ow e uses
i put the tap (flow control)
at the brush head easy ;)
-
move the tap to the brush head ;)
I have taps at the brush head and at the end of the pole hose and the brush head is generally the one I use.
A brush head tap is also very convenient for ground floor work.
-
IMO aqua-daptors are fantastic.buy one mate.easy control of your water flow.there is also a flow control tap at the brush end for ground floor work.most people like them.
as for pole hose on the outside of the pole.i tried that once and it was a nightmare!!the pole hose gets tangled up around the pole and its awkward when keeping opening and closing down the pole!!

Do you need to have a big amount of excess pole hose with this method as when my pole is at full reach my pole hose is only very short , so it would then be lifting up the 8mm hose which would be heavier/pull on the connection?

Thanks for the video. I actually have the extra flow valve fitted to my pole but haven't been using it the way you have demonstrated. Haven't been using wfp for long as you can tell!

That's nowt. I once leant my Brodex aluminium pole against a house and the house fell down!
To be fair, it was a new build and a slightly breezy day.

why on earth do you want to hold the hose all day, same problem as a trigger, mad loop of hose plus snagging on everthing, aqua dapter is designed to overcome this problem!!!
