Title: work unit or lock up
Post by: Dean Taberner on March 29, 2012, 04:54:24 pm
Hi fellas,

How much do the guys with units or lock ups pay per month for their use?

I'm going have to get one pretty soon so would like to compare prices.

I'm based in stoke so if any local people have any ideas it will be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Dean.

I've got a 40' by 8' unit which is an adapted storage container with 8' doors on the side - It's got a water supply and elecy - both free if I don't use excessively.
I pay £80 pcm.  Downside is it's on farmland, in the middle of nowhere and tends to be muddy most of the year. I use it as a workshop for maintenance and storage mainly.

The council do em near me in Queensferry 500 sq ft @ £275 and 1000 sq ft @ £375 plus rates of approx £80 but no rates until April next year.

Some have no water meters as well !

the way i did it id i bought an old portacabin off ebay and rent a bit of ground in a trading estate , i have everything i need inc place to park the vans. i have just bought another cabin for the w/c's to pick up their work in the morning drop it off at night , all eqipment is in there and somewhere for them to sit when its raining. My original cabin is now soley my office which i have now carpetted and done up. It is a perfect set up for a window cleaning business at a cheap price. The cabins are mine so i only pay to rent the land they sit on which is very reasonable.
