Title: Black 'beads' in riser???

Second hand DI bottle had black 'beading' in the riser which was messing with the reading.
Any idea what it was?

I think they came from the food industry, marked calcium something.

Why would they put resin IN the riser?

Oh,thought it was an old di resin vessel. Sounds like mould then

It was LIKE resin. Kind of like small rubber bits. I thought it could be charcoal.

Its a DI vessel just like mine, simply had a previous life.

turns out that the high reading were caused by a hole drilled inside the top to allow bypass, sorted with a self tapping screw and readings are zero , sorted
