Title: HAND HELD COMPUTER FOR GEORGE

Hi all,
        I`m thinking of going for the hand held system for my george  hardware. Can anyone recommened any make or model to go for. One that works with george and that is robust to take a drop as this can happen, also maybe around £100/150. can anyone help.  Many thanks

Palm zire

had one for a couple of years now
fab little pda

gets my vote every time

Most use any palm operated hand held, you should get a simple "Zire" or higher on ebay for £50
If you want a proper lap top try the smallest in the world.

unsure what you mean"download to my computer" you cant download a zire .... a zire is a hanheld computer

do you mean download the data from it .... if so yes a hotsinc at the end of the day and its all done :)

I don't know how you can call your spreadsheet "easier" than George.

You still have to put exactly the same information into it - but you don't very much out of it.

I'm talking about proper flexible scheduling, finance statements, mileage recording, expenses, proper Debt control, detailed reporting, automated backup, internet backup, PocketGeorge etc, etc.

There is a limit to what you can do with a spreadsheet. They are good at analysis but they are not designed to store & manipulate large amounts of data - that requires a database (like George).

I know it's cheaper than George - but so it should be  :)
