Been canvassing this morning an estate, not a nice one, but not a bad estate either....
Offered to do one house for £8 (3 windows on front and 2 on the back) and noticed next door, an old man listening and then watching me as i cleaned the house.
After i finished, he asked me how much i'd charge to do his place, (pretty much identical, but with one extra window on the side), I presume he has heard me quote for next door, so i say i'll do it for £9 as it has an extra window.
"How much?!" he says. At that point I'm preparing to go down a quid when he says, tell you what, you do all of those windows and promise to call back every four weeks and I'll pay you £25.
Jaw hit floor. Has been a good morning.

Result!! cant complain at that ;D

unless he ment for the year
-
wait till he chats with his neighbour and thinks your doing him
Couldnt you have said £10 , good price for you , and solid custy for life!
-
I tried, i actually said I couldn't charge more than £12 in good conscience, and he absolutely insisted i take £25.
Rare gem of a custy i reckon.

He sounds bonkers to me.

he's obviously supplementing his pension with a cannabis farm in his allotment shed

Had opposite this afternoon woman says I need my sons house doing tomorrow as tenants moving in Friday 11 windows inside and out as a 1 off ... Told her 30 quid .... Oh that's far too dear I will do them myself !!! .... U gotta smile

Agreed - it'll all end in tears ...

Did him yesterday. His windows were quite green on the back, so spent plenty of time cleaning. We talked for a bit about his family, then despite my protestations put the £25 in my hand.
What a custy :-)

Agreed - it'll all end in tears ...
but if customer is happy then why not just do a good job and take his money.

no reason not to, but his windows were green, I suspect a couple of cleans then cancel for another five years, but hey I would have done the same in the hope of keep going

I'd dump him and replace with two better priced jobs, naturally 8).
