Title: What would you do..
Post by: Paul H on March 21, 2012, 01:05:36 pm
Alreet folks

Hope everyone is well and work is going well for all.

Right heres the question:

I,m considering putting a little bit of work the way someone i trust but only for a short term period. Its not helping me on the tools etc.. I was thinking of utilising them in another way MARKETTING..

So given my budget i recogn i can maybe put 8hrs per week for a few weeks their way..and take it from there..

So the BIG question is if you do this or had the chance to do this how would you best employ /utilise their time..Obviously the incentive is to generate work / leads and keep it going and they keep on rolling on with the work..
E.g Would it be:
Leaflets
Telesales
Canvass
etc..

I know leaflets are about 100 - 200 per hour or so depending on area so that would give me approx 1000 - 1500 per week..

Telesales - I leaning towards this as from what experinece i have had doing it it can work out quite well and you get work & interted parties to then direct mail... but its all new to me so i'll have to put some systems in place...also if anyone uses this method or a document on what opening lines etc..work well please feel free to email them too me ;)

OR would people not bother with this .. if so why or would they plough the budget into something else

Look forward to the honest replies as ever

Paul

Depends on a few things, but what I'd do is...

Do you have an existing client list and phone numbers?  If so I'd definitely hit that with telesales. Both Domestic and Commercial, commercial is hot at the moment with end of financial year blow out spending, but you need to be quick now.

Cold telesales to domestic never worked for us when we tried it years ago, too much of the Kirby effect I think.

Cold calling commercial works though, we make a call to get the contact details first, then mailshot free demo offer, then follow up that letter with a telesales call.  Target the prestige buildings in the area.

Hope that helps,

Al.

Been out delivering leaflets today, phone rang, asking me to pop back and price up job...Booked.
Carried on delivering few doors up "are been meaning to call can i book my lounge ...Booked
Got back to the office "you've just put a leaflet through our door, can i book my oven in....Booked.
Not bad for 2 hours stroll....so leaflets all the way and if it is a nice day people are out and about in there garden, as they say"its good to talk"
I feel rather than getting somebody else to delivery then, there's nothing like the personal touch.

i think we all agree leaflets are hitty missy

ive been off the tools for a week due to having a small op last week but back on them for rest of the week from tomorrow so ive been out for a stroll with leaflets today , yesterday and the day before just for a few hours .... NOWT yet!.. but i know sometimes you hit lucky soemtimes you dont's i aint disheartened though as i believe in fate... him up there see's you working and rewards you.... ive bagged 3 jobs for the next few weeks .... all from previous leaflets where ive had work and then been referred :) all good earners too
