Title: Chemicals you don't hear much about these days
Post by: heritagecleaning on March 20, 2012, 09:13:10 pm
When I started out, not too long ago, I bought quite a few different chemicals. Some I've never used and they don't get much of a mention on here either -

Multi Pro

Anyone still using it?

Trafficlean

Strikes me as evil stuff. I'd imagine it's good on carpet tiles, but I don't suppose it'd get on well with bitumen. So what's it for?

Double Clean

Got a whole tub, never used it. Strikes me it would leave anything it touched similar to the inside of a car battery. Again, what's it for?

M Power

Seemed to be all the rage a year ago. Now barely get's a mention. Why's that?

One step

I inherited loads of this with my machine. Never used it. I don't know what it is or if it's any good

'Zap It' spotter

Anyone ever used it?

So that's what's bothering me tonight :-\

Multi Pro

Think I used it in the early days when it came with the machine..... 12 years ago but can't remember ever buying any... so that must have been good ;D

Trafficlean

Still use that on draught marks.

Double Clean

Still believe that stuff screwed up my machine at the time, so never bought it again.

M Power

Bought it once on the back of 'rave reviews' by a few. Failed to live up to all the hype so never bought again.

One step

Never used it

'Zap It' spotter

Never used it but remember reading that many did rave about it

And now for mine! Chrystal Green. I've been carrying around for years a small container of the stuff but have never used it.

How old is your bottle?

The stock we received week before last still says to mix with S777 (Crystal Green) or B109 Fibre & Fabric Rinse.

I use m power every day. When I first began cleaning I used only Extracta stuff. They never seem to have changed their products vey much since. I wonder are many people using their chemicals now.

How old is your machine? May be a good idea to get some up to date training.
Multipro bought once 20 odd years ago. Use cristal green very occasionally.
Thing have moved on as regard the rest.

Nothing at all, you've left the area I'm not pinching your customer I was stating that I was cleaning the carpets for one of your ex customers and she had bad draft marks and she was quite anal about them!

If it's the one down in the corner with the stairs (beige) immediatly to the left as you go through the front door, she was the same with us; however we did explain all about them, what causes them and what to expect (i.e. they will come back) and did remove them using Ultrapak Renovate spray/ aggitate/rinse with hand tool and towel after. She seemed to be obsessed with the draft marks. She was happy when we left. Did she go round and check them ALL? She did with us.

Have to agree with you on that one Shaun but it was me that advised then as to a yearly clean so you should have a yearly job from them.  :)

Alternatively if this is an ongoing problem, next time lift the carpet and place some membrane under the problem area.
Silly me that would prevent a guarenteed yearly job ;D
