I was thinking today, window cleaning seems to be getting more complex in this country year by year...
> Freezing van systems in the winter
> Hose pipe bans and dought orders in the spring and summer
> Rising, rising, rising fuel costs
Maybe I should move to Ireland like I've always wanted to! ;)

The first two may have more to do with the cycle of the sun and sun spots and all that.
When was the last time wfp was banned due to drought orders?
The third, now there is a problem especially if you use a hot water system and drive miles and miles each day.
I don't think Ireland will offer any better chances.

never had any frozen pumps/tanks etc.answer is a heater in the van overnight.
never had a drought order in north west england.
my fuel consumption is minimal due to nearly all work within a 8 mile area.most very compact.
and just to pee all them off who live in hard water areas.my tap tds is 31 at the moment!so my resin lasts 4-5 months before needing changing!! :P :P
i know...i know!!im very lucky!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

You don't know till you try. I moved there 7 months ago, and despite being advised to go back to Britain because there is little demand for window cleaners, I am building my round up from scratch and it is working for me. :)
There is plenty of work here as I am finding. It's well buried though! ;D

I agree, I would have an ro, my tds is over way over 400 tds over 8, my resin lasts me a year ;) and i produce a lot of water for us and supply to others ;)
tds is 8 out, long term you would save money, may take a little more time, my guess is you have weiged this up and go for easy life instead of cost

if i remember right daz lives in a flat,so it probaly easier to di ;)

i live in a flat on a water meter so an RO would be out of the question.my water bill would be huge and it would take forever to fill my tank up in the evening!!
as it stands 2 bags of resin a year from pure freedom does me.it also only takes around 50 mins to fill my tank for the next days work!! :D :D :D
