When someone has liked your page they then get reports of other people liking your page then it helps with ur page rep.

out of interest, if you're all stuggling to get real customers to like your page, what are you planning to do with facebook? what benefit is there you're getting from getting fake likes if real customers don't like it?

Well when we post something thats pretty good for advertising to our real likers we can all learn. we can see what other people in the industry are up to and view recent jobs they have completed, Chat to each other in real time. Im not just interested in what MY customers are interested in i'm also interested in what is working for companies 200miles away from mine. Its not really saying I like your page you are great . its saying when you post something on facebook to your customers i would also like to view this.and i would like to monitor what questions your customers are asking. so we can learn from each other!!

previous threads have suggested it. also i doubt the reason you've listed for having a page and liking other carpet cleaners is a reason many other businesses on here like others

I do agree that if you are just wanting it to try and look good that's not going to happen(Which is why i also think when it was called being a fan of this business rather than a liker worked better(caused less confusion). But for me i'm thinking more about a social media survey seeing what others customers are responding to and then running a similar post on my own page.
