Title: Promo bottle Chemical
Post by: oliver collins on March 18, 2012, 07:49:45 pm
Hi Guys

I make up my own promo bttle spotter bottles i give them away, yes i know i am missing out on a few quied.

But have always used pure clean to the dilution rate of one scoop per lt but looking closely at the label again it should be 4 scoops per lt for spotting

If you use pure clean what dilution rate do you use?

Thinking of changing to smp

Any ideas or if you do make your own what do you use?

Stick to one scoop. 4 scoops is if you are rinsing out with a machine. Using that strength for a domestic customer who is just wiping is likely to leave white residues.
You have to be careful what products you use for liability reasons. Don't want customers child to drink your spotter and die.

one thing to bear in mind with spm is the fact that it has an oxidiser in which could well give you a lighter shade in the carpet. This is one thing that was eggagerated when I once used a solution that I had also boosted with additional oxidiser and did some spotting. I ended up having to treat the whole of the carpet.
From a point of looking professional and the time involved in buying in and making your own is it really worth anything that you might save from buying in ready made?

Surely Pure Clean is safe enough at sensible dilution rates?

yes pure clean is! I am saying to be cautious about using products with oxidisers in them.

But surely the products with oxisers in (like spm) would break down to plain microsplitters after about an hour.

Amendment: I should have said oxygenator which will lose it's qualities after a short time.
