Title: block paving question

My Mother has had her driveway cleaned (block paving) he did seem to have decent equipment,she said.
Mother quite elderly forked out £250, There is no grit sand now in between the blocks. when she asked about this,
His reply was its better has the sand promotes weeds.
Is this correct?
 any help appreciated

Complete boll**ks, block paving needs to be re-sanded (kiln dried) after washing, simple as that.
Can't comment on the price, as I don't know the size of the area.
Get them back to finish the job.

Sand is required to add stability to the blocks. Weeds will grow through equally as fast as without sand in my opinion.
What were the company called Paul?
