Get this long slow message on the A/M that takes up two messages from an old girl - been in hospital needs windows cleaned as son and DiL flying in from America for Mother's day. Leaves address but no phone nymber.
So driving by on the way home this afto I tap the door.
This old girl (92) takes minutes to get to the door on her zimmer and I am going round tomoz to do a one off as I feel sorry for her. She's come out of hospital after an op, in loads of pain and just sat there looking at her dirty windows.
Story goes she moved from the Portway (flat easy access to shops buses etc) when she and hubby retired 30 yrs ago. He promptly dies and she stays there.
It's fifteen steps down to her front (side) door, then another twelve down and past to the bottom garden through a locked gate. (It's cut into a hill) I reckon the only way she is going to come out of there is on a stretcher or in a box!
It'll prolly take me an hour - and half of that will be waiting for her to come to the door and find the gate key and pay me! ;D
