Just been to pick up a chinese, went to bump up the curb and its an unusually high one felt a bit of a bump. Got back home got out the van and hear a hissing...My tyre is going down fast! I have 300l of water in there which the tank sits more to the drivers side, guess what side the flat tyre is. I could punch a wheely bin! I am a bit worried as read a thread recently about jacks breaking when people were trying to change a wheel with a tank full. Its fully flat already I must have somehow ripped the tyre wall from the rim...Not happy im nervous about doing this plus gotta get up early to do it!

Member of A.A. or RAC if its full?

Well done Matt I didnt even think of it I knew I was £165 lighter for something Full RAC Commercial policy home start all bells and whistles...Problem solved! up an hour earlier and ring them.....
Now I will just check my policy because knowing my luck they wont come out just to change a wheel! ???

lay the spare wheel under the sill first so IF the jack fails the van will not crash onto the floor
-
A flat tyre can be fixed easy 10 min job
unlike most of the fat guys on here that have spare tyres ;D ;D :o :o

just checked covered for RAC so I will get them out to do it. Dont get me wrong I can change a tyre its the 300l of water on a jack that prob never figured on lifting that amount of weight directly above where the jack will be, why risk it when the RAC have a big ass jack at my beck and call?
There was a thread on here not long ago and it seems a couple of the standard jacks you get with your van have failed when the van tank was full. not gonna risk it, its annoying enough as it is.

i had 350l in the back when i had a front flat , it stripped the threads on jack (went with a bang) , its a astravan

Get out there and change it.
I got a flat last January, 5am in the morning, -12c, at the side of a duel carriageway with 650 litres on board. I still managed to change the wheel and that was with a horribly rusty jack. Needless to say it was not a pleasant experience though.

still ringing the RAC ;D

Seriously boys its only the multispace not the proper van, i dont know if the jacks are the same? this happened to about 3 or 4 people and if its posted on here it must be true ;D
Not gonna risk it boys. Soooooooo....I got up early to ring RAC rang them at 6:45am thinking I will be ok...Possible 3 hour wait
However I would rather have a 3 hour wait than an accident, and possibly damage the vehicle if the jack drops.
I CAN CHANGE A TYRE!!!!
;D ;D ;D
