Title: Every little helps
Post by: Lee GLS on March 14, 2012, 06:51:50 pm
With the hose pipe ban/water shortage, I'm going to do my bit on saving water by closing my waste tap on my 4040 so the pure to waste ratio is nearer 50:50. But what is the minium that the ro needs flushing? it usually gets left to run on a Sunday afternoon for an hour, which I'm sure is excessive.

I'm sure my water saving won't really contribute much in the grand scheme of things, but at least I will be doing something, hopefully other will also.

All us scots will leave our taps running so it will eventually run down the tweed and flood the north of England.

You'll have plenty of water then

99.7% of all water that rains down all throughout the year ends up in the sea.

Every little helps? Sorry but there is no shortage of water, just a shortage of interest and investment by water companies to do anything about it but there's no shortage of interest when it comes to share holders.

The actual problem isn't the water or lack of, it's the need for water companies to place profit above all else.

After the quite severe drought of 1976 and all the promises about 'this must never happen again'? A 10%+ rise in population and increased demand by business and absolutely nothing has been done by any water company or any government.

A lot of water is lost every year due to water companies failing to meet leakage rate targets.

I only flush for a couple of mins a week, all I've ever done and RO seems ok still, I've just reduced the waste as you did lee to try to minimise wasteage.
