If you have to pay for business banking, switch banks. Ridiculous to have to pay for banking.

It's not a legal requirement, but some banks are reluctant to open a personal current account for sole traders. The easiest way round is not to tell them it's for a business! ;)

They keep asking me if I want a business account, for why? So they can charge me for the privilege. So I just say, nah, you're alright thanks   ;D ;D

Go and ask them what the benefits are to having a business account...they wont be able to tell you. I asked and there was nothing...hence why i cancelled mine...and paying monthly for it is ridiculous...for what, do employed people pay to have their wages in their account? Nope!

My accountant also said get rid.

The problem with switching from time to time is that you will probably have customers who pay by BACS.  It would mean issuing them all with new details.

mine's a personal account with no charges and occasionally one woman behind the counter has moaned when I've given her a few cheques to process. At the end of the day what else has she got to do, her lot are supposed to be 'on my side'
