I take mine out, gives me an excuse to give the van insides a clean and have good look underneath the tank, just in case

Never took my tank out, no different to having a pallet of something in the back

A WFP tank isn't on the MOT list of things to inspect or check.

Don't worry about it.

My tank is left in.  It would be pretty difficult not to leave it in  :) .
You should leave it empty or near empty for the MOT though.

I think the MOT rules state that vehicles should not be loaded.  In the case of a vehicle with a properly fitted tank, this would mean no water in it.  I suppose that if the tank isn't fitted by bolting etc., the tank could technically be classified as "load".  Although I do run the tank down before MOT, servicing etc., it's never actually empty.  Also, I leave my other tools in there and no-one has ever bothered about it.

I empty to water out of my tank now. A couple of MOT's ago it was nearly full and their lift struggled to lift the weight.

I also remove the ladder clamps as my van won't go under their workshop doors with them in place.

Technically, the van must be empty to allow for inspection of the floor but I have never had a problem leaving water tank etc in my van.
