Title: Diagram of van set up
Post by: combat1 on March 06, 2012, 09:51:52 pm
Hi. does anyone know of where I can get a diagram of how to install a set up in the back of a van?
Just a tank as I produce the water at home.
Pump, flow controller? etc.
Not sure of how its wired up or in what order it all goes.
Many thanks.

Tank-pump-hose reel.
Controller has 4 wires
2 go to pump
2 go to battery
Thats about it !!!

Make sure the pump inlet outlet are no higher than tank outlet, otherwise you get inconsistent flow. I like my controller in the cab, then I can switch on as I pull up and when you forget to switch it off after a job, its easier to switch off. If you have twin sliding doors then mounting the hose reel sideways, positioned centrally between the side doors works really well as you can reel out in all directions. This is how I like it, and I've tried many different setups.

You'll need to give more info on your kit and van for better help though...

Anyway hope they help you out... amy questions just shout....

This one is only 250 litre, should of gone at least 350 really, boxed tank in and carpet covered. Sit hose reel wheels into two holes we cut so it doesn't move, then I just put hose through 'runners' one on tank, you can see in pics, and one on back bumper also one on each bumper on back sides, left/right so which ever direction I am working, hose comes out very freely.
Hose Reel never has to come out of van that way, bloody heavy and time consuming lifting reel in/out all day.

Love the pictures helps explain the setup.
Is the tank secured as well as boxed in or is it the boxing that secures it?
Thanks
G.

Ha ha... I thought I would illustrate how simple a basic setup is by using a kiddie type drawing in MS Paint... Some people make it sound like rocket science... And some companies sell systems for the same price as a space rocket!

Thanks guys. very helpful and I have a clx 22 as well!
I suppose its the next stage for me, the RO seemed a mighty task at first but how easy that was to install.  Had about 2 yrs of untroubled production.
Planning on a transit connect with 350 litre tank. thanks all.

Get a 400 ltr or 500 ltr if the load capacity allows,
Its better to have too much water than not enough,
