UP TO 400 , someone will be along in a minute to say you have to go slow , I use 380 at the moment.

To be fair, i've used 390rpm before and not had a problem! The only thing i would say different to Jason is, if you have never used a rotary on carpet before, then i would get a slow speed first! 175rpm-200rpm, before you go to a speed of upto 400rpm, as there is potentialto cause damage if you have experience!! i'm sure you can do damage with a slow speed, but your more likely with a high speed!

Just my opinion!

I use about 380 but as you and Jason say, it is experience. I would advise not having one above 200 to start with.

No some say it’s the best speed. We also use a 380 and 150 (whish I had the 150 handy today need to green pad a wheel mark about 50ft long 380 bit to fast for edging)
