Title: suspended ceilings
Post by: lynngc on January 03, 2006, 09:01:13 pm
have just set up my own business in cleaning.
still very very small.

can i ask, is there much call for suspended ceiling cleaning in commercial propertys ie, shops etc these days.  have done this sort of work before when i was an employee of a cleaning company years ago.

would'nt mind trying it if there is a market.
welcome feed back  :)  lynn

I asked this question a few months back.
You will find the replies if you try the search facilities.

If there is a big demand

 nobody revealed it.

Perhaps they donot want everyone in on the act ;D ;D

My question was prompted by the fact that I saw a Franchise advert, and it is sometimes mentioned as an add on to carpet cleaning.

You obviously know how to do it, if you have the equipment I see no reason why it should not be part of your cleaning portfolio. And coud be a niche market in your marketing campain.

If you would need to invest in Specialist equipment to do it I would do a bit more research before commiting yourself

Hi Lulu (lynn),

For what its worth, I contacted a company in the states that made a machine to do the job a few years ago, where i asked the same question!

Basically they said as a stand alone business it is not viable, only as a add-on to your existing cleaning business.

In my opinion its not the sort of cleaning that needs doing every day, in other words its a good idea, but i think you will be hard pushed to find regular work with this sort of niche cleaning.

Although if you do go ahead and have ago, i would direct mail `Facilities Managers` and then follow up with a personal call to get work. where by you could arrange a test clean.

I will try and find out the name of the company and its web-site if you are interested.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on!

hi there,

there is a company based in the midlands that provides a refurb service, its quite specialist as the tiles have an intumescent coating.
