A the title says, I've got a huge conny roof to do on weds and am wondering if there is a product out there that will not damage/invalidate the self-cleaning coating?
It's gonna be a pain of a job wit scaff tower needed...
Any tips advice are very welcome :)

You can safely clean it as long as you don't use any abrasive cleaners. ;)
-
Im sure pilkington suggests that you should only use soapy water, or just pure using wfp.
I think any sort of chemical can damage the coating,
Also dont use a scraper for the same reason as above

What about tfr and virosol if that gets on the glass which will happen is that ok?
-
i would certainly NOT use anything like TFR - i doubt i would use virosol either
a small amount of ecover washing up liquid for anything really stubborn but pure is more than good enough
to do 'self cleaning' glass

Ok but if you need to clean the detailing with tfr etc can it realy damage the glass and if the owners don't know how can you tell its self cleaning glass
-
done two builders cleans and the surface is so soft even a soft cloth marks the srface ,if it was so dirty that i needed a tfr ect i would want a signed disclaimer :)

if the finnals and plastics are really bad and it's self cleaning glass then your in for a bit more scrubbing with pure and price the job accordingly - most dirt and algae will come off when scrubbed - if not then your into upvc restorer territory - which again is more pounds ;D
if the custy doesn't know err on the side of caution/safety or get a waiver signed.

what happens when you come acoss theese roofs and the owner doesnt tell you and you use chemicals on them.?
-
Well, the answer is in the post title itself,if it's self cleaning I would'nt bother ,I've had loads of people dump me in the past because the now have SELF CLEANING GLASS,then after 4-5 months they ring you up to clean their windows,Ooops sorry mate ,your space has been taken......... ;D ;D ;D ;D
But for a realistic answer I would just use wfp ;)

you can tell its self cleaning the stuff i have done has a tint

pilkington glass have a approved list of cleaning products but pure is best the right brush and plenty of water will clean any pvc surrounding the glass. MIKE
