It's the combination of the two really. I wouldn't be too bothered about 1,000 leaflets, or 3 hours canvassing, but 3,000 leaflets (not all compact areas either) and 3 hours canvassing after seeing 5+ cleaners in the same area makes me won't to jump on the next area...rant over :) Back on it tomorrow!

done 5k last month and 3 calls so far.
1 x regular call pays for them so in pocket so far.

all good  ;)

kwackers keep going m8
pound them streets every day till u got a good start.

Dont get too downhearted mate, key is to keep going and mixing it up a bit.

Try going back and knocking where you left the leaflets, its amazing how many people say they were going to call but forgot !  ;D

You could team up with a local takeaway and get them to drop for you or a friendly newsagent or paperboy. £50 would probably do it and save your shoe leather.

Yeah, tried going back, did 3 hours on an area I did a week before. Got one biter, then the bloke came back out while I was noting down to say wife "is happy with current cleaner" LOL! Took me a while to build up to go canvassing so just going to leaflet all the areas I'm aiming to cover and then work back canvassing after I think.

You have to be in a really positive frame of mind before you go canvassing, big smile jolly chappy type.
If you are feeling negative it will come across and you get nowt !

Good idea to go back after flyers within a few days, any longer and people wont respond as well  ;D

Hi

Every leaflet you deliver gets you closer to another customer  ;)

Customers that come to you are better than the ones that have been knocked on average sometimes you can be lucky though.

Things must be getting bad, a few years ago you could deliver 100 leaflets and expect to pick at least 5 customers from them!! People haven't got the money for non essentials any more, but the main problem is there are way too many window cleaners now, sites like this openly encourage newbies to start up, what other business/trade encourages so many others to be their competitors? We must all be mad or stupid!!!  ???

Used the same leaflet in other areas got 110 custies (av around £25) off around 12k (although that was over the space of around 10 months. This area just not happening, so going to change it up a bit and try a new tact :)

It's pretty basic, company name (includes window cleaning), offering a free quotation "or" name, address etc send back and we give you a call. It worked well in VERY afluent areas, think it might be a bit much in the areas I'm targetting now (more like £14 average houses). Will try something a bit more basic.
