Ok, Im going to start doing tops only WFP so have been getting the RO and DI set up today. I have just produced pure water for the first time but it seems a lot slower than I expected. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to fill 2 25litre barrels so 50 litres in total. Is this normal?
My setup is 300 gpd Pure Freedom RO and 11 litre DI from Daqua.
Not sure what my pressure is but the RO has a pump on. The water flows ok out of the RO, but when connected to the DI the water stops and starts a lot is this normal ??? ???

It shouldnt stop/start like that,
Have you connected the ro in the correct direct
Or over filled the di,

The output of the RO goes to the 'IN' on DI and I didnt fill the DI, I bought it filled from Daqua. The vessel is almost full I had a peep earlier.

Sorry,
I meant is the di connected in the correct direction

Yes, the output of RO is going to the IN on the DI and the hose to my barrels is coming from the OUT on the DI.

Just had a look again at your production rate,
50 ltrs -1.5 hrs
So 500 ltrs in 15 hrs
Thats not a bad return for a 300 gpd unit

Really?! I thought it may of been faster?
I was thinking along the lines of 300gpd = 1200 litres approx
1200 divided by 24 hours = 50 litres an hour

A 300 UK GPD RO should produce 56.75 ltrs of pure per hour.
If the RO is rated as 300 US GPD it will produce 47 litres of pure per hour.
But this depends on certain variables: water pressure, water temperature etc.

Quote from Pure Freedom website:
"As a rough guide, for average water preussre and quality in the UK, the 300 GPD unit will typically produce 250 to 350 litres of pure water per day per day. The addition of the booster pump will normally double this amount."
So according to this my production rate is normal, wish I would of paid a bit more for something faster :(

Water temperature does make a difference.
This time of year my tap water is about 9-10 degrees.
In summer it will be 20 ish degrees and the RO produces faster.

can you get a large container like an ibc tank and fill it overnight or while your at work, then your times wont matter so much becasue you can leave it on loads, you can transfer your water with a submersable water pump into your barrels

Would love to do this but unfortunately I don't have a garage. Im working out of an estate car but hopefully getting a van if I get enough customers to warrant it (only been going a few months) so overnight I could fill the tank in the van ;)
