how i work this type of thing is work out what i'd expect to earn in a day on regular work. it has to be at least the same as that.
if a day of reg work is worth £150 to you then you've got your price (obviously add expenses)

This is where the "I wouldn't get out of bed for any less than £250 a day" brigade come in isn't it? :D

If you have a full round yes
If you have gaps its better to get a days work for 150 than sit in the house earning 0 ?

Would they accept linage of "subject to work required". It seems a bit flimsy to ask a day rate for a one off job, if they are the ones who decide how long it would take :)

I don't do 'day rates', even though I've one customer after mine. I'm frightened that their concept of what constitutes a full working day differs from my own. ;D
-
or it could be that they are gathering prices to get an idea of the lowest rate and contract out to that firm?
just a thought.
how can you give a day rate for a job that doesn't exist, each job will be different surely, this is why i stick to domestics
