Title: New way of advertising
Post by: Scoop on February 27, 2012, 09:22:19 am
I wanted an opinion on this.

Talking to someone who said he has used peelable stickers stuck on the lids of wheelie bins to advertise. He liked it because it's right in your face, much quicker than leafletting (obviously you go round on bin day when all the bins are out in a line) and if custy isn't interested they just peel it off and chuck it in the bin.

But are people likely to get peed off by this?

And is the Council likely to do a 2 page spread on me in the crime pages of the local rag for using something provided by them for advertising? I don't want to phone the Council and ask because they would begin the conversation with "The answer is no. Now what do you want to do?"

If it works hassle-free then it seems like a good idea. And could work for many things, not just bin cleaning.

dont know if you are aloud, but i think just put it in a envelope hooked under the lid
then they might think it is from the council so read it
but easy peel stickers could be a good idea
test run in an area???

signed up to the forum and saw this post. Ive had a bin cleaning business going for 2 years now, and i tried this method of advertising in the beginning (i used a elastic band with a weather proof tag on it looped around the bin handle)...i got dogs abuse from the council saying i shouldnt use council property to advertise...they asked me to go and take them all off again (no chance) i just found leaflets is the only way really...
