work out a price and then double it, never as straight forward as you think, plus get a scratched glass waiver. more trouble than they are worth on my opinion , but you would want at least 3 -4 times what you would ususally charge

Think of a number then double it, the double it again, then the realy important bit tel them you want the money up-front

they are a lot more work than you may realise. i got caught out last year. thought they wanted a one off clean and charged them double our normal, once on the job, not only was it a real nightmare to complete because of access problems on the sight, but also they wanted cement taken off the windows, internal windows cleaning, and stickers removed.
i ended up having to pay about £160 in wages and just taking the hit as i couldnt complete the work as they wanted it done. wouldnt ever do one again personally as too much work involved.
think the guy who ended up doing it, richy wilts, charged them about £500 in the end (tho i dont know the exact figure).

Best thing is to go and have a look at it.
Personally I try to avoid them. But I would agree with what has been said, usually minimum 3-4 times usual rate.
Or much more for the really bad or difficult jobs.
They can end up being non-profitable jobs to take on so beware.

Yeah Ive had the same problems. Getting told they need the price low and then saying oh we need this doing and that doing then they told me to turn up on the Monday with my invoice and all the portacabins, plant and building materials had vanished.

I'm doing a couple every month at the moment for a mid size local builder. All 6-8 bed properties.
Don't underestimate how long the work will take.
Don't touch any glass without getting a scratch waiver signed.
Don't expect to turn up to a clean / empty site.
Do price it ATLEAST 5 x a normal first clean price.
Do ask for payment upfront.
Do get the work signed off before leaving site.
Basically they can be a royal pain in the arse, but as long as you have explained what is / isn't possible and had your quote accepted on that basis, you shouldn't go far wrong.

Forgot to add, they are a great way of picking up regular cleans from too. Make sure you get the homeowners details etc and moving in date to follow up with a quote.

Dave i priced up a school what you cleaned morpeth b 4 seeing your price I quoted it about 3800 thought you went in to cheap as Debbie showed me what you charged so went in at the same biting my lip & got it but she gave me about a weeks notice & I couldnt fit it in & she seemed to be abit of a knightmare would pull on slight runs so passed it on to a m8 but she messed him about !!!!!!!!!

What he said, and don't forget you'll probably need your PPE if its still a condtruction site. eg. hard hat, steel toe caps, hi vis etc.
Likely to have to provide Risk Assessment and Method Statement too.
