Does everybody here... do windows only or do gutters aswell?
Because am starting up should i just start of doing windows or should i do both windows and gutters ? :) thankyou

If i was you i would concentrate on building up a good base of window cleaning customers, then you can add on gutters and fascia cleaning when you get going a bit.
-
I see :)

I have just started last week, second job asked me to do gutters and fascia ,in doing it Monday although a little worried I won't get s good finish,in an ideal world I would have stuck to windows but I need all the cash I can get so would have been silly of me to not do it.

I think ill go for doing gutters :)
-
I disagree do anything you can the more you can offer the more you can earn .

i wont clear gutters out anymore!always hated it!! ;D ;D ;D
i have a very well established maintenance window cleaning round and i do the add ons that go with wfp.(conny roofs/fascia/soffit/outside gutter cleaning.works well.
do whatever you can when you havent much work.money is money at the end of the day.if you have a severe lack of it youll soon go out of business!!

Old Proverb says "Man who chases two hares catches neither."
Another old Proverb says "Don't put all your eggs in one basket"
Chinese Proverb says "He who breaks wind in church sits in his own pew" :)
At the end of the day it's what is right for you. I was talking to a windy yesterday who can barely get round all his window customers and who now turns down gutter jobs - he just hasn't got time.
But if your ultimate goal is to work flat out to make as much money as possible and you are confident that you can build a big enough window round then gutters might be a distraction. If you're not sure you can always start gutters and then sell the kit at a later date.

I used to do gutters aswell, but I hated doing them so now I just do windows!

Think when first starting out do em as cash is cash then stop when full round ..... When I first got going I would do fascias soffitts gutters and gutter clean plus conny valet all for 140 quid but a few a month helped pay bills
-
of course you should do gutters , if asked and you can access them safely on a ladder why not , we charge £20 per side for ladder accessible gutters for regular custys and £30 per side for vac jobs, it can be a really nice little extra and a lot of the time it is easier money than windows. For non regular custys we charge £25 + vat for ladder access and £35 + vat for vac jobs (per side)

I havent done any gutters for a long time, i loathe them, tell i lie i did one couple of weeks ago but it was easy.
Problem i find is pricing them, you charge say £8 - £10 a house then want £25 + upwards to clean their gutters.
I steer clear from it now, dont advertise it. Ive taken it all off my website aswel. Just windows now.
-
Ive stopped doing them as well,
Took my ladders off my van now, stops people asking

I do a few of the bigger properties on my rounds at winter time usually a few just before and after xmas , helps with cash at that time of year as windows can be a pain ,prob do a grand a year in gutters , its spends i see it as ,, or buys new poles etc
Unless your flat out 5-6 days a week you can fit in a few gutter cleans here and there , just price them right as its horrible work
I do them with a friend who has a triple ladder , we share the work and foot for one another usually make about £35-40 an hour each
