As heading.
Just wondered if it is practical with maybe a 250 ltr tank.
Its for my son, so sounds economical.
What do you guys think?
-
im getting a astra with a trolley system....
trolley systems better cos you dont have no headache in parking close to the house.... ect...
but its what you prefer :)
-
I do yeh got a 350 in mine and 5 seats

cheers Matt
can u access the rear seats easily?
-
Yes ive got the side door to get to them. Also the front seats rock forward like in a 3 door car for the other side where i dont have a side door.
Perfect van mate, and so cheap to run!
-
I bet thatvauxhall sits low on the ground full, with it so far back on the vehicles frame.

used trolly systems for ages crap compared to a decent van setup in my opinion
-
i have got a combo crew with a 210 ltr tank ;D ;D
-
do u need to tip the seats forward and use that space for equipment or for a one man setup is it ok to leave the seats upright and fit an upright 250 or 350 ltr tank
and put the reel next to the back doors
-
My seats are back, they have to go back to lock in, i only have jsut enough room in mine, i had to higher the reels cause the doors wouldnt shut if they were on the floor, probs off best with a smaller tank as limited in mine to fit much else in...but i dont really need anything else.
Poles fit nice up in the roof outta the way, ive fitted gutters to roof and they slide down into the overhead shelf.
Really cant recommend this van enough.
-
What i was thinking was to tip seats forward and put reel in that space and run hose from side of the van with reel outside the van on the floor when in use.
Do you think this is wise?
If i did this, a 350 tank would easily fit.
-
Yes no problem, 350 sits nicely behind the seats.
-
cheers for the help everybody, especially Matt
-
FireMatt to you
-
;D ok Firematt
-
just wondered if the cab can be locked with
back doors open?
-
If you open the back doors first yes.
-
Thanks, also wondered if this tank would fit between the wheel arches. its the Length or in my case it would be the width (1100mm) that concerns me.
250 Litre baffled water tank upright, with screw top lid. Comes with a year's warranty.
250 Litre Tank
Height.........825mm
Width.........325mm
Length.......1100mm
Weight.......19 kg
-
I think it would fit mate
This is my 350
Dimensions:
Height..........750mm
Width...........520mm
Length.........990mm
And there room to spare either side of my tank, i would be concner about the height tho...but should fit just about. Id look at getting the 210l or 350 cube ones like mine.
-
ladderless window cleaner? whats that on the roof of the combo?
-
He still use ladders but less of e'm.
-
i will upload a pic of the inside of my crew cab later ;)

Cor i like your seats!! lol
Its a factory fitted crew cab did't want a modified van for insurance purposes ;) ;)
-
Cheers for the pics Erith.
I think i will go for the 350 ltr upright tank.
-
Hi
If you need the rear seats up the 350 ltr flat would be better as you can mount the reel on top of the tank i have looked at the upright and it makes things tight with alot of wasted space
regards Paul
-
Would a flat fit in that space? Would be a tight squeeze.
Wonder if our dimensions are the same Erith with you having different seats (nicer seats ;D) Mine are factory to just older i think, they rock forward to make a flat bed.
-
I measured it up yesterday and it fits just with a little bit of space each side ;)
-
i personally think its bonkers to try and squeeze a 350L in a combo with 5 seats.if you have to ferry any loved ones around with a full tank youll be way over your payload weight.youll knacker the suspension as well as being illegal on the road.
why dont you all just use your vans for work and buy a cheap second hand car for pleasure/leisure purposes?
i use my girlfriends car at the moment and just use van for work but ill be getting a focus or honda civic for leisure in a few months.

Hi
The tank will fit fine and i will be under the payload plus my daughters will never be in the van when it is fully loaded anyway i already have a car but my wife uses it for work so the crew cab is used for when i need to pop out and my wife is at work the kids can jump in the van ;D ;D
regards Paul
-
Weve also got a family car but as Erith, my wife uses it for work so if i need to pick them up from school or at weekend...when the tank will be near to or empty...
Hush thy mouth. Why would i get ANOTHER car, ive got 2 vehicles, i dont have to use my girlfriends car :P
Crew cabs are well handy so shh and 350 fits very nicely indeed with seats. Perfect all rounder.
-
took my van to the weighbridge today and it weighed 1580 kg im aloud 1900 kg
thats with fuel ladders hose reel and full 210 tank ;D ;D
305ltr tanks here i come ;D ;D ;D

I just picked up my sons combo and wondered whether you fixed your reel in place or just leave it available to lift in and out as neccesary.
I was just refering to your pic and decided that a 210 ltr tank is the best way forward.
Thanks again for the pics, Regards Jon
-
ps where do you keep your battery?
-
pps if you are getting a 350 how are u going to re-arrange everything?
-
Reel looks fixed to me, its a nice height to work at that is to reel in and out etc.
I run my system off my van battery...never had a problem always done it this way.
My 350 is upright and to get the reels in like i have i had to higher them so the doors would shut on them, they slot into the recess where the window is if you understand what i mean.
You could probably fit the reels on top of a layflat tank to be fair.
-
Hi
the reel is fixed in place with a bit of ply wood, i would get the 350 tank straight away he doesn't have to fill it right up every day i only fill my tank with enough water for the work i need to do, the pump is wired straight to the van battery and works fine, with the 350 tank i won't have to move much might have to find some where else for my scrims but thats about it ;)
The tank that i have at the moment is covered in insulation board and shrink wraped in black
once i have got the 350 tank i will post pictures
Regards Paul
-
Just wondered what length in cms your hose reels take up. l have measured up the back as if i fitted a 350 upright and even the way FireMatt has done it it wont fit with the metal reel i use.
-
my hose reel is roughly a 50cm cube thats why i use a flat tank the reel gets fixed to the top of the tank ;D ;D

Trolley system is no where near better than a van mount, have you ever used a van mount ? :o
