Hi again I'm looking for ways around buying a £500 pole and trying to keep costs to a bare minimum. I would like to test out the pure water method just to see if I can get on with it and plan on catching some rain water as I live in v hard water area. I will purchase a di vessel for final polish however could I get away with using a hand held water sprayer like they use in gardening? Obviously I'm still going to need to go up the ladder but that doesn't bother me and maybe would be easier to spray more accurately and better view of things? I would just like a perfect finish everytime and with traditional methods it just isn't possible on every window all the time or the jobs would take all day!

Buy a back pack from John Hewitt for £100, make a Harris pole for £30 try it if you don't like it sell the backpack and you won't have lost much money, that you be the easiest and cheapest way of trying it

mate, isn't there someone you know whom you can go with for half a day or day...... once you've tried it I'm sure you'll see the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

No you can't use a sprayer with a hand pump. I watched a windie convert to this and I watched him several times. The pump action may be alright for a fine mist spray but doesn't deliver enough water to wash and rinse a window.
I think the electric units are around £150.00 + vat (for the ESR-505C) which we have found great. It has 3 speeds and the battery is big enough to last my son all day.
We cut the on/off tap off and replaced it with a rectus female stop. We use a rectus male fitting on the hose to the brush. We initially had an on/off tap fitted to this sprayer using rectus fittings, but as we now use an Aqua-dapter on the end of the pole, we don't use this tap any longer.
He uses it all day on his back, but I can't. So I would suggest that you may have to get a cheap trolley to strap it to.
