It was written by Ian Lancaster - a very well regarded window cleaner who works in Kent.
You fire this through the door before you start cleaning!!

Cleaning in the Rain
As window cleaning is my only source of income; I need to work in all weathers to maintain regularity of service and to earn my living. There may be times when I have to clean your windows while it is raining. It is a condition of service that the customer will accept this as necessary and will not refuse service because it is raining.
I do not work in very heavy rain.
I hope you will understand and bear with me if I every have to clean your windows in the rain.
My guarantee to you
If, within 24 hours, there are problems caused by my having cleaned in the rain, please give me a call and I will come and rectify free of charge.

just clean em!!if they come out and say anything just say i need to as i have a busy workload!!any problems then give me a ring and i will clean again within 24 hours FOC.
i never get any calls back and everyone bar a couple of customers accept i need to earn money whatever the weather.any that refuse dont get cleaned for another month.simple.
majority of my customers are used to me cleaning in most types of weather so they just come out and pay me as i clean.

Same as dazmond . Just keep going i would'nt bother with letter. Mike
-
same as Dazmond and above,
don't post a letter through, just clean them. that's what we do and don't get any complaints whatsoever. just a query now and then (maybe two in the past 6 months!!!)
also, i don't like this letter as its written from the perspective of the WC... i am a business and need my income etc etc... why should the client be interested in this? the real point is that the results will be exactly the same, and we are so confident of this that we'll come back if you re not happy!
-
at this rate mate you will have around 5 letters to post through to each different customer!!speak to them!!no need for letters about this and that.just calmly and politely explain how you operate your business!!
keep it simple!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
If they say not today due to rain, i just say sorry i'm doing it as you haven't put it in writing that you didn't want cleans done in the rain.
Always have a problem ;)

because if customers want to pick and choose and only have done when weather good, for us to stay in business, we would need to charge 3 times the price to stay in business. if we dont stay in business.......we aint cleaning their windows.
but i agree, we can over complicate things by means of letters and stuff, but its good to have in mind what to say if a customer queries it....
-
i dont bother with letters either, whats the point, most are at work and never see you anyway, not once has a custy came out and questioned me working in the rain, cleaning their windows,
-
I usually tell them that I don't get rain relief on the mortgage.

RAIN???? Whats That?
We never see that stuff here in south Lincs. My Dad told me about it though, he saw it on a holiday in wales once. We always went to Skegness after that where its always dry and sunny like here.
Rain...nasty stuff. you can keep it

Fire this through the door.
Do ŷou mean post.
Your spelling and grammar are poor
-
it seems as though this would give a custy a reason to get you not to do theirs this time around, i say dont mention the rain - if they come out while you are cleaning and tell you it shouldnt be done in the rain - tell them you never have any problems and if there are problems you'll come back to sort for free...
-
That's a nice way of putting David ;)
