you need to employ your own person, get on Gumtree and offer 10hrs a week @ £7 an hour, 2 hours a  day 8 -10am get him to come to your house for 7.45am ( or you pick him up) and take him out to your first job and both of you do an hour,,,,, then let him continue while you work,

Hi Jamie & Mike

I am currently looking to do the same thing by employing someone to distribute leaflets.

Mike - do you know how many leaflets on average are deliverble an hour? Also why do you recommend only two hours a day and not more?

Cheers Wayne

That's a method i have not heard of Mike, sounds like you've had your fingers burned too. good luck finding someone who will actually deliver them. From my experience they all start of with good intentions, then its get a bit like too much hard work they then get binned or not delivered. i have a mate that does them and i know he does them as he is delivering for his own business ( and he's a good mate) when he told me he was delivering leaflets he jumped at my suggestion that he could earn a few quid at the same time.

I pay £30/thousand (min 2k), they get delivered with no more than 1 other leaflet, and last time I got 2% success within 4 weeks.

2 hours in 1 go  is all the average person can do without getting totally disheartened, any more and they will do it for a week then then pack it in.

it take 6-8 hrs to do a 1000 leaflets , so doing as I suggest will get about  1800-2000 leaflets out. this is solo so you can expect a response of 6-8 jobs ( with a few more in the coming months)

i'm lucky to have a great company putting out my leaflet ( 30k a month)  @ £20/1000 I don't get the same response as doing them solo as they are put out with 1 other leaflets and a A5 booklet.

I wish i could find someone reliable to put that many out, i have tried four companies now, one of them delivered 5000 and i got 0% response what was odd was that my sister lives in a road that they delivered to and she did not get one, so i went knocking i knocked on every door in one road and not one had seen my leaflet, when i told the company they accused me of being underhand by ckecking  ???
The other ones that delivered, in every case my % dramatically dropped compared to when i delivered them myself, even taking into account the impact of a solo drop the only explanation i could see was they were not delivering all the leaflets, i gave up in the end as i considered it to be throwing money down the drain.

I agree about the 2 hour limit too.

When I do my leaflets I get a spurt on and use it as an excercise workout. After 2 hours Im knackered and ready to go home.

I pay my daughter to do leafleting with me for some extra pocket money. She loves it and it gets her out the house. I give her £5 for every job that we get from leafleting, so we can get a real sprint on when we're out leafleting. We also tend to do 2 hours at a time, so we can get around 400 leaflets out  in that time depending on how close together the houses are.

Hi Guys & Girls

Great advice, as I havent deliverd leaflets myself I didnt think about the fatigue aspect of it I was just looking at the numbers! You have just saved me money by not employing someone full time to do it!

Do them yourself like I do.
That means I can pick and choose every house
that gets one and in what area.
Can be very specific with it.
I reckon on an average of 120 an hour postcards
though not leaflets.

They were £55 2 years ago. 100% price hike is a bit much. They must be following the Rich Leafleter success guide!

It may be a geographical thing.

I paid 220 for 2000 printed and delivered to £150k+ properties .

Had excellent reports of the places they couldn't drop at due to dogs or gates.

We just mailed them out to those ones.
