Title: Hose reel for hot water users
Post by: Pure Glass on February 21, 2012, 08:31:35 am
Which reel do you find works best?

Van mounted or lift in and out of van?

I currently have a pure freedom reel which had been excellent for the past year but now it's slowly falling apart due to the expansion of the hose. I use 8mm 100m hose which is great, but is killing my reel.

I've changed the spindle and all central parts, but still the reel expands and it constantly catches on the side of the reel

Any suggestions welcomed

Ta, Steve

Any of these would do nicely I'd imagine.

Claber reel here, wouldn't buy it again for hot as it's not made to withstand pressures and the internal hoselock to microbore constantly blows off. For cold it's brilliant though.

i had the same problem with the internal connector blowing off using hot, so i cable tied it on, never comes off now.

Interesting, that didn't come off, the hose just wiggled it's way out. The actual connector is fine. Alex has put something together for me which I'm going to try as soon as it comes in. Should solve the problem I hope.
